Overview
Use SSI’s Modular Designs To Create Your Ideal Research or Verification System. SSI can build systems to collect:
- Ride quality and roughness (IRI, MRI, PRI, faulting)
- Macrotexture
- Temperature/humidity
- Rutting
- High accuracy GPS position
- Cross-slope
- Running grade
- Lane line intensities, and
- Survey scans with survey-grade accuracy.
Base Systems Can Be Scalable
Collect IRI per AASHTO r57 and ASTM e950 with a CS9100 or CS9300 inertial profiler. Profiles can also be collected with a CS8800 Walking Profiler for certification benchmarks. These systems can be the basis to add features of ROW cameras, rutting, texture, and temperature measurement.

Certification Tracks and Research
SSI’s CS8800 can be used as a benchmark profiler for AASHTO r56 certification tracks for DOT’s or agencies to certify inertial profilers. The CS8800 can also collect data for rutting or profile studies on virtually any pavement – sidewalks, bike paths, highways, and bridge decks.
SSI has confirmed ASTM E950 compliance with over 98% repeatability for our Zero-Speed Inertial Profiler. Now certification tracks can be collected with a vehicle at a comfortable speed of 15 mph in both wheelpaths. This allows the certification track to be collected the same day as the inertial profilers.
