The CS8850 device is based on the CS8800 Walking Profiler designed for highway standards. The road specifications require higher repeatability and more resolution from the elevations collected. This allows the CS8850 to collect an report at a 1-inch interval with higher accuracy than other FF/FL devices.
User-friendly software guides operators through the collection process for ASTM E1155. The SSI SurPro software will tell the operator the exact starting points of collection based on the slab dimension to be more efficient (90 or 45-degrees)
With the tight sampling interval the CS8850 can output a topography with a resolution other devices are incapable of. Along with the FF/FL data reported every 1-foot, a PDF or Excel export of the FF/FL results can be reported immediately after collection.
The CS8850 can also be retrofitted for defined traffic FF/FL standards under the CS8880 Defined Traffic model.
Surf-Pro Software
Surf-Pro software guides users through multiple test methods and plans the collection paths. The operators can set up and see a topographic map of the collected slab using high resolution 1-inch sampling. After collecting the data the report can be exported to PDF or Excel.

Simple, Refined Hardware
Easily ship the CS88500 system in a rolling foam fit case. The random traffic hardware per ASTM E1155 is similar to the CS8800 road configuration, but with harder wheels for warehouse measurements.
Defined traffic hardware can be affixed to the CS8850 to achieve the wider wheelbase required for aisle testing under the TR-34 test method.
Configure The Equipment For Your Needs
The CS8850 is intended for FF/FL testing, however it can be reconfigured for sidewalk ADA and pavement smoothness testing. The CS8850 system includes a single axis inclinometer, computer, and the required software and hardware for FF/FL collections.
Additional options are:
Dual or single axis inclinometer
Single axis is longitudinal profiling
Dual axis is for longitudinal profiles and cross-slope reporting
Dot laser for rapid elevation changes or faulting/cracking
Line laser for texture measurement (MPD, ETD, RMS, raw)
ROW camera tied to stationing and GPS
Larger wheels to move over rougher pavement (sidewalks)
